Fisher and Walton are good friends.

LaVar Ball is well known for speaking his mind and yesterday he did just that by calling Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton a horrible head coach for his son Lonzo and that if he were to be traded, he wants Lonzo to go to Phoenix. It was a pretty big statement coming from LaVar which was met with some well-deserved criticism.

"The Lakers gave my boy that losing attitude. If you look at my boys, the one thing they do do is win … my boys don’t lose too much," Ball explained. "When he got to the Lakers -- Luke Walton was the worst coach ever for Lonzo because he had a losing mentality. They’ve been losing for three years. That’s how you develop losing.”

TMZ ended up catching up with Walton's former teammate Derek Fisher who disagreed with what LaVar had to say.

"I'm not a member of the Ball family. Luke Walton is a friend," Fisher told TMZ. "What I do know is Luke is a great person and he's a great basketball coach."

The Lakers have struggled since their Christmas Day game against the Golden State Warriors and are outside of a playoffs spot with a record of 27-27.
