The Los Angeles Lakers have some new uniforms to go with their new-look roster for the 2018-19 season.
The Lakers today officially revealed their new threads which serve as a nod to the 1980s Showtime Era, featuring the number drop shadow and a rounded neckline. The font effect references the Lakers' storied past, while also positioning a fresh direction for the franchise.
In total, there are three uniforms for the upcoming season, including a gold Icon edition, a purple Statement edition and a white Association edition.
Per the Lakers' press release:
The Icon edition is the primary color uniform that represents the unique identity and rich heritage of each of the 30 teams in the league, for which the Lakers have adopted their gold jerseys.
The Statement edition is inspired by teams’ desire to make a bold statement. The Lakers purple Statement jersey features the addition of a black side panel.
The Association edition pays homage to the NBA, as every team has the traditional white jersey in their collection.
