Spotify continues to amp up the features.

Spotify has begun testing out the addition of personalized songs to their in-house editor-curated playlists. This new feature will use algorithms to select songs tailored to users' taste, similar to the tailored Discover Weekly and Release Radar playlists. Some users have begun to see such changes on mid-tier playlists like  Beast Mode, Chill Hits, Dance Party, and Metal Ballads. The general idea is to further adapt genre, decade, or mood playlists to a user's listening habits.

"We are always testing new ways to create better listening experiences for more users, while also finding ways for users to discover more music," said a Spotify spokesperson in a statement.

Earlier in the year, the music streaming service began to implement more features that would improve the listening experience, especially for listeners using the free option with features like the options to "like" or "hide" artists in curated playlists and even a "Data Saver" toggle that optimizes devices to use less mobile data when listening music.

“Our customers always tell us that music discovery and listening is a personal experience, and we are enhancing the free experience with this in mind,” said Babar Zafar, VP of Product Development at Spotify. “This is the beginning of an evolution for Spotify and we will continue to make improvements that mirror our customers’ needs. This is not only about giving users a more customized free experience from the day they sign up, but giving them more control over their listening experience so they can easily find and stream their favorites anytime, from anywhere.”
