UFC flyweight Rachael Ostovich was reportedly attacked in her native Hawaii "by someone close to her" and needed to be hospitalized for major injuries she sustained, including a broken orbital bone. According to TMZ Sports, Ostovich was in Honolulu when the incident took place and police have reportedly opened a felony domestic violence investigation.
The 27-year old fighter is currently scheduled to face Paige VanZant in the biggest fight of her MMA career on January 19 in the UFC’s debut on ESPN+. According to MMA site Bloody Elbow, Ostovich is currently 1-1 in the UFC, and 4-4 overall. VanZant, 24, has not fought since she broke her arm in a loss to Jessica Rose-Clark last January.
Ostovich's team has not yet commented on the vicious attack but if she did, in fact, suffer a broken orbital bone it doesn't bode well for her big match against VanZant.
