The Bears will be losing their defensive coordinator

After serving as the Defensive Coordinator for the Chicago Bears, a team that finished with the best defense in the league, Vic Fangio is moving on as he has been named the next head coach of the Denver Broncos. The news comes via ESPN's Adam Schefter who reported that Fangio will be given a four-year contract, with an option for a fifth.

John Elway, the Broncos general manager and president of football operations was down to two candidates. The first being Fangio while the other was Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak, according to ESPN.

"I want them to be great on one side of the ball and great at what they do -- whatever that position that may be -- whether it be a coordinator or whatever they've done, I look for greatness on that side," Elway said when speaking on what he was looking for in a coach. "For me, I look for experience. I want the guys that understand the game, they understand X's and O's but also have the ability to lead men. That's a big part of it in today's world. Those are two things that I look for."

The Broncos finished 6-10 this season and failed to make the playoffs.
