Shoutout to Hank Johnson.

In what is arguably one of the most perplexing stories this year, 21 Savage is currently facing deportation after he was arrested by ICE. He is presently in custody with the majority of his days being spent in lockdown. A petition has been created with support from Black Lives Matter and a handful of musicians, which is nearing its goal. The entire ordeal has been described as a "misunderstanding" but as the days continue to pass by, it's becoming clearer that 21 Savage could be facing some serious repercussions. Hopefully, Georgia Representative Hank Johnson has some pull with the immigration judge because 21 needs all the help he can get.

According to Complex, Hank Johnson argues that he has gotten to know 21 Savage through charity work, noting that he's an asset to the community. The politician wrote to the judge, "He was raised and spent his formative years in and around Atlanta, and he has developed deep family roots and personal ties to our wonderful state of Georgia, and to Gwinnett and DeKalb counties in particular."

Johnson went on to write, "I know [21] to be a remarkable young man. He spends his time giving back to our community and has been living a life of paying it forward. I believe that it would be a serious hardship to [21's] family and a loss for our community, if he is not allowed bail so that he can be released from detention. ... He has been an outstanding figure and influence within his family and within Atlanta."

Many have been chiming in on Savage's current immigration situation, including J. Cole who stood up for his "A Lot" costar. Read the full letter below.
