Earlier this year, director and ambassador of everything comic book related Kevin Smith suffered a massive heart attack. After taping a comedy special in Glendale, California, Smith felt ill and checked himself into a nearby urgent care. His timing was immaculate, because doctors caught a potentially fatal blockage in his artery. "I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka “the Widow-Maker”). If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight," wrote Smith in a tweet during his hospital stay.
Smith took to Instagram on Sunday to share a picture of himself looking healthier than ever. "This @weightwatchers Ambassador is thrilled to announce that I’VE LOST 51 POUNDS!" he began in a lengthy caption. "Six months ago from right now, I was in the hospital recovering from a heart attack I’d had the night before," he proceeded. "When I went to my Doctor a week later, she told me “The best thing you can do for yourself now is to lose 50 pounds.”
"This is the lightest I’ve been since high school!" continued the excited Smith. "My hope now is I can slowly lose another 10 with #weightwatchers and get down to my birth weight of 195!"
