It's been five years since Anchorman 2 and almost 15 since the original, but Steve Carrell is still ready for more. When Variety asked him about the possibility of a third instalment he didn't hesitate, saying simply that “if they make another one, I’ll do another one." His reason? working on the Anchormans is just a great time. In his words, they're "really fun. That’s just hanging out with friends and being silly.”
Sounds like a dream job. He was also asked about the possibility of appearing in the new Ron Burgundy podcast that Burgundy announced by harassing the real-life news anchor Don Lemon on Twitter. Carrell, still keeping it simple, said “sure, if he wants me to come in and say some non-sequiturs as Brick, of course. I would in a second.” The announcement of the podcast was classic Ron Burgundy: "listen, I don't know what a podcast is, but I currently have a lot of time on my hands and a lot to talk about. I am also broke. Therefore, I am very excited to do this podcast. It is literally saving my life." There's no way he won't get the channel four news team back together.
