Billie Eilish might not be hip-hop in the traditional sense, though she does have plenty of friends in the game. This year alone, Eilish has toured with EarthGang, and lined up some shows with former collaborator Denzel Curry. Now, with her upcoming album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? set to arrive on March 29th, Eilish has released another offering from the project. This one, titled "Wish You Were Gay," finds her getting a little wistful over a slow-burning, lush instrumental. Her vocals shine as she paints a picture of doomed romance, pining for an unconventional solution.
The single is a bold move for Eilish, who will likely find herself on the receiving end of some Twitter scorn. Still, she broke down the meaning to NME, explaining that the song is "about wanting to be with someone so bad it hurts, and not wanting to accept that this person doesn’t want you in return. t least if they were gay, I’d have a valid reason for their rejection and lack of interest in being with me. I wrote the song when I was 14 and madly in love with a boy. It’s supposed to be a fun and playful way at dealing with rejection.”

Quotable Lyrics
Is there a reason we're not through?
Is there a twelveth step just for you?
Our conversations are in blue
Eleven heys
Ten fingers pulling out my hair
Nine times you never made it fair
I ate alone at seven; six minutes away
