Atlanta native and rapper Jeezy, also known as Young Jezzy, has been heralded for his spirit of philanthropy and entrepreneurship. Back in January of 2017, an intimate, star-studded dinner was held in New York City to honor Jeezy's achievements by Forbes Magazine, and digital media marketing strategist, Karen Civil.
Earlier this week, Jezzy visited Pulaski Elementary School in his hometown of Hawkinsville, Georgia with Katrina Johnson, the Executive Director of the Street Dreamz foundation. You may be surprised to learn that Street Dreamz is an organization founded by Jeezy "to encourage a generation of at-risk young people to become effective leaders through a program that fosters independence and respect for others," as stated on its website.
During the visit, Jeezy and Johnson announced Jeezy's technology initiative. Taking the time to speak five classes individually, Jezzy surprised students and personally presented them with gift-wrapped iPads. “It does not matter where you are from or how small your town is…anything is possible if you dream and believe. The sky is the limit,” he shared with the students. The generous gesture comes just a day after Jeezy and the Stream Dreamz foundation had made donations to Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms’ Youth Scholarship Program, and to the “Kilometer Kids," a youth-based branch of the Atlanta Track Club.
