The move comes a year after Arians claimed he was retiring.

The NFL playoffs are upon which means the teams that are still standing are battling it out for a shot at the coveted Vince Lombardi trophy. Meanwhile, teams that weren't so good, are making personnel changes and firing/hiring coaches. The latest team to pick up a new coach is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who announced on Tuesday that Bruce Arians will be their new head coach.

Arians most recently coached the Arizona Cardinals before retiring after the 2017 season.

Buccaneers owner Bryan Glazer released a statement saying:

"Bruce Arians is one of the NFL's most well-respected coaches over the past two decades, and we are excited to have him leading our team. Throughout this process, we focused on finding the right coach with a proven ability to elevate our players and lead our team forward. Bruce has played a large role in the development and career success of some of our league's best players, and we look forward to seeing him continue that work here with our franchise."

Arians was the head coach of the Cardinals for five seasons and was able to earn a regular season record of 49-30-1.
