While the Golden State Warriors have been dominant this year, it hasn't been their best season record-wise. The team will be getting better very soon though, as it looks as though DeMarcus Cousins wants to return by January 18th.
ESPN reported that Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Cousins wants to return "somewhere in the neighborhood" of January 18th which would have him making his season debut against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Kerr explained that the 18th is simply a target date, but it could be earlier or later than that.
Per ESPN:
"Maybe it's the New Orleans game a couple days earlier. Maybe it's the first game after that, but that's definitely the range. I would say the last two scrimmages that he's had. It's looked to us and it's felt to him that he has broken through a barrier. And we were waiting for that barrier. So that he's through that barrier, and assuming everything goes well the next week or two, that's sort of the idea to get him in some time that week."
Cousins signed a one year deal with the Warriors in the offseason worth $5.3 million which came as a surprise considering he was eligible for a max contract.
