Two lyrical sportsmen may very well have to throw down.

UPDATE: Hopsin has since responded with an escalating threat.

If there's a lesson to be learned in 2018, it's this: beef simultaneously entertains and sells records. Case in point, the recent feud between Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly has made for one of September's definitive stories, and has no doubt paid dividends for both parties. With that in mind, it's not surprising to see up-and-coming rappers seeking smoke, knowing full well the potential ramifications it may bring. Such may very well be true for Joyner Lucas, who recently found himself in a surprising discourse.

When Hopsin was asked whether or not he could handle Joyner in a beef, Hopsin responded with an ambiguous yet possibly condescending retort: "that's a dumb question that I'm sure you already know the answer to." Joyner took issue with Hop's remark, replying with a further inquiry. "Hold up," he writes, "Hopsin wtf is that supposed to mean?" Clearly, a competitive tension is brewing, and both artists seem unlikely to back down.

Remember, Hopsin's confidence is admirable, and this wouldn't be the first time he challenged a formidable lyricist. Fans may recall the time he went after KXNG Crooked and The Horseshoe Gang, who are known for their own verbal dexterity. It should be noted that Hopsin fought valiantly in a beef largely pursued in the name of sport. One has to wonder if this "beef" would be more in the name of friendly competition than genuine animosity. If so, we wouldn't be complaining. Joyner is due for a worthwhile back and forth, as Logic never fully committed to the cause, despite his best efforts. As we know, Hopsin is far more susceptible to goading.
