Bautista adds to his resume.

Dune is a classic film that was a box office failure but gained a cult following. The film, which dropped in 1984, was originally a novel of the same name. The story follows a group of noble families that live on a planet called Arrakis, nicknamed Dune. The planet of Dune is the only place in the galaxy where the drug called melange, or spice, can be found. The drug can be used to open the users' mind and gives him or her an insight into the future, longer life, and other wonderous abilities. The main use of spice is space travel though. The drug is used to fuel transportation through the galaxy, so it is absolutely vital to all other planets and colonies.

According to VarietyDune is getting a reboot. Dave Bautista, who made a name for himself playing Drax in Guardians Of The Galaxy, has joined the cast. He will star alongside Timothee Chalamet, who will play the main character. Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049, Arrival, Sicario, Prisoners) is set to helm the film. Bautista worked with Villeneuve on Blade Runner 2049. Legendary Pictures acquired the rights to the Dune novel for television and movie purposes, and this looks like a studio attempt to build an interconnected universe.
