Even without Kawhi Leonard in the lineup last night, the Toronto Raptors went into Oracle Arena and defeated the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors by 20 points. And this time around, Stephen Curry was in the lineup.
Curry, who did not play the first time the Raptors beat the Warriors this season, shot just 3-of-12 from the field and finished with 10 points in the 113-93 loss.
After the game, Kevin Durant noted that these aren't the same Raptors. The two-time Finals MVP pointed to the additions of champions Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green, adding "they're not an up-and-coming team. They're here."
"They have champions over there," Durant said following a 113-93 loss to the Raptors on Wednesday night at Oracle Arena. "Danny [Green] and Kawhi [Leonard]. They also have guys like Serge [Ibaka] and Kyle [Lowry] and Jonas [Valanciunas]. They got a great mix of veteran and young players. They got a new coach, but the leaders of that team have been through some wars.
"So I wouldn't call them a young team or say them beating us two times is going to give them extra confidence. They've been ballin' before that, and they're going to be ballin' after they beat us. So they're not an up-and-coming team. They're here."
According to ESPN, the Raptors snapped a 13-game losing streak in Oakland with last night's victory, as they improved to an NBA-best 23-7. The Warriors, 19-10, are currently sitting in second place in the Western Conference just percentage points behind the Denver Nuggets.
