Police in Georgia is beginning to investigate R. Kelly (finally) after Lifetime aired the docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly. The doc explores resurfaced sexual misconduct allegations made against the Chicago singer over the years which are extensive, to say the least. However, Chicago police aren't looking into the accusations yet, but they are looking for information from witnesses.

In the docuseries, one of the allegations made was that Kellz had connections in the Chicago Police Department who would tip him off about welfare checks at his studio/alleged sex cult den. According to The Blast, the police are encouraging anyone with information pertaining to Kellz or the police department's sketchy interactions with the singer to come forward.

“There is nothing more important to CPD than integrity, accountability and the highest of professional standards,” the Chicago Police Department said in a statement. “While we do not have any current complaints of misconduct, we strongly encourage anyone who may have information related to the domestic violence allegations or who suspect or have information about wrongdoing on the part of officers to please contact Internal Affairs or the external Office of Police Accountability or Chicago Inspector General’s Office so these matters can be independently investigated.”

R. Kelly and his properties are under investigation by the Fulton County D.A. The D.A. has gotten into contact with R. Kelly's alleged sex slave Joycelyn Savage for questioning. Her family has reportedly been cooperative with authorities during the investigation. The allegations made against Kellz in the docuseries is also being looked into as evidence in the case.
