Consistently releasing quality music and making a significant impact on the industry, Run The Jewels have always thought outside of the box. Not conforming to the standards that most artists do in an age where trap music reigns supreme, Killer Mike and El-P have become a masterful duo with plenty of ambition. The talented twosome has collaborated on a number of impressive projects thus far with both El-P and Killer Mike foraying into their own personal works as well. While it was ultimately rejected, El-P shared a demo he made for Blade Runner 2049's music and it fit right in with the theme of the film. You'll remember Killer Mike working alongside Bernie Sanders during his presidential campaign as well as RTJ shows proficiency in multiple realms.
Giving props to a Cincinnati legend, the duo shared a mix made by Mr. Dibbs, reimagining RTJ's sound as we know it. The mix runs for 10 minutes, being described by the group as "a reinterpretation where rules don't apply, pitch becomes a weapon and production standards don't exist." Simply named "Run The Dibbs," RTJ were quick to give the DJ and turntablist his shine, writing, "We're proud to present a brand new mix from the one and only Mr. Dibbs! The man goes way back with us and has been a heavyweight in the DJ / Turntablist scene for years."
As we wait for RTJ4 to arrive, give the new mix a listen below to keep you cool for the next while.
