Kingsbury ditches USC for AZ.

The Arizona Cardinals have found their next head coach - Kliff Kingsbury.

Kingsbury, 39, was fired as head coach of Texas Tech on November 26 and was hired as offensive coordinator at USC less than two weeks later on December 5. After a little over one month as USC OC, he will now be moving on to coach the Cards.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the deal is for four years, with a team option for a fifth season. He will officially be introduced at a press conference on Wednesday.

Just last week a report surfaced that USC was preventing Kingsbury from interviewing for head coaching positions with the Cardinals and New York Jets. According to Pro Football Talk, Kingsbury was actually considering resigning and paying his own buyout so he would be free to accept any other job, but it looks like USC backed off their stance.

Kingsbury will now take over for Steve Wilks, who was fired by the Cardinals after just one year. Arizona has the #1 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft after finishing the season with an NFL-worst 3-13 record.

In his six seasons as head coach at Texas Tech, Kingsbury compiled a 35-40 record.
