Nick Young was arrested by police in Hollywood this weekend, and new footage of the NBA star has hit the web. As originally reported, Young was pulled over for a traffic violation, and what should have been a routine stop turned into an arrest. Young allegedly refused to cooperate with the officers, and was charged with obstruction of justice. For anyone who has been detained by police during a traffic stop in the past, an obstruction of justice charge in this scenario usually just means that the passenger refused to provide the details the police were asking for. In the state of California, you do not have to show police your ID unless they have evidence of wrongdoing and need to identify you for records. The details of Young's interactions with the arresting officers have yet to be released, so their real reasons for arresting him are still unknown.
In a new video, that was obtained by TMZ, a bystander records the arrest while his friend watches alongside him. "Am I resisting right now? Am I resisting?" yells a frustrated Young as police take him out of his vehicle and place him in handcuffs. The man recording the video can be heard saying "nope," while his other friend yells "shoot him." "Shut the f*ck up, hoe ass n*gga," responds the man recording the video.
