It's still being worked on.

Ever since Kim Kardashian had a conversation with Jack Dorsey at Kanye West's birthday party about incorporating an edit button on Twitter, it seems like the idea has been more in motion than ever. After previously explaining how the social media platform is perfecting it and how it can't be rushed out, Jack has now chatted with Joe Rogan on his podcast discussing the topic further.

Describing how it may possibly work, Jack said: "You could build it such that maybe we introduce a five-second to 30-second delay in the sending, and within that window, you can edit."

Letting users edit after the window "takes that real-time nature and the conversational flow out of it." As for the reason why the edit button isn't up and running now, Jack told Joe it's because he and his co-founders were "born on SMS." As the number of characters increase, more users will want to be able to edit their posts - which is fair.

The duo even talked about the company's plan to remove the visibility of someone's follower count, where Jack previously stated how it's not important. "I don't think that's the number you should be focused on. I think what is more important is the number of meaningful conversations you're having on the platform. How many times do you receive a reply?"
