New Orleans Shooting Leaves 3 Dead & 7 Injured: Report

Police are on the hunt for two suspects.

New Orleans police are currently on the hunt for two suspects who opened fired on a crowd of people miles from the French Quarter. According to CNNthe two suspects were dressed in hooded sweatshirts and one fired a long rifle and the other used a handgun to slaughter three people on Saturday night. Police Chief Michael Harrison gave a statement regarding the shooting, and he pleaded with residents to come forward if they know anything. "This was a large crowd and we know that people saw something, heard something," Harrison stated. "We need them to know that they can trust us and come to us."

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell also released a statement where she pledged that, "every resource necessary to ending this horror and seeing justice done." "There is no place in New Orleans for this kind of violence," she stated. "I speak for everyone in our city when I say we are disgusted, we are infuriated, and we have had more than enough. Three more lives — gone. It has to end. This happened near my neighborhood, on the edge of Broadmoor. It's unacceptable anywhere." Two men and one woman were murdered at the scene of the crime. Another five men and two women were taken to hospitals and are in various conditions.
