If the Golden State Warriors win their third consecutive NBA title in June of 2019, Kevin Durant has no question that he, Steph, Klay and Draymond will have their jerseys retired at the team's new arena in the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco.
Furthermore, KD envisions statues for the Warriors All-Stars outside of the Chase Center when it's all said and done.
"I know for a fact that we'll all get our jerseys retired. We'll probably all get statues here in front of the Chase Center," Durant told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes. "We'll be Bay Area legends forever, meaning that people will recognize this team and this run forever in this area. Steve Kerr is going to be immortalized and he'll be a legend forever. Bob Myers, as well, and Joe Lacob."
"Yeah, I mean that's what I think about. I think that's going to happen. I think about 50 years from now when they have our whole team on the Chase Center floor, or wherever the arena is at that point, all the fans will be cheering for us and reminiscing on those days," says KD.
The Warriors, currently 18-9, are still the favorites to win the 2018-19 NBA title with odds of 5/9 followed by the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors - both of whom are listed at 8/1, according to VegasInsider.com.
Golden State will host the Raptors tonight in what could be an NBA Finals preview. That game will air on ESPN with tipoff scheduled for 10:30pm ET.
