Daredevil season three is almost here. The first teaser for the new season appeared during an after-credits scene for Iron Fist. In the short clip, Matt Murdock can be seen wearing his old school costume which is comprised of a black cloth wrapped over his face. Murdock sits in the familiar setting of a confessional and tells his priest, "I once believed that justice could be found in a court of law, and in the light of day. But I was fooling myself. Darkness only responds to darkness. And the truth is, I'd rather die as the devil than live as Matt Murdock." His words may come true.
The last time we saw Daredevil was in The Defenders. He seemingly meets his demise alongside Elektra as a building collapses in on them while the other Defenders escape. Iron Fist takes it upon himself to defend New York after Murdock is "killed," while Luke Cage and Jessica Jones embark on their own separate adventures. The last season of Daredevil further expanded the Marvel Universe by adding The Punisher, and this upcoming season will likely dig deeper into the comic lore. Season three is set to adapt Frank Miller's "Born Again" comic book storyline, where The Kingpin discovers Daredevil's true identity and ruins his life.
The latest teaser for Daredevil season three comes in the form of a poster. The promo-image features Daredevil's helmet hanging from a tombstone with an all red filter dousing the entire scene in the color of blood. "Let there be darkness," is written as the catchphrase for the new season. The promo picture came along with a short trailer that reveals the release date for season three to be Friday, October 19th.
