The New York Jets are looking to make the playoffs this year. The last time the Jets made the playoffs was in 2010, and the NFL team was able to march all the way to the AFC conference finals, where they lost to the Steelers. The year prior, the Jets also found themselves in the AFC conference finals. Both years, Mark Sanchez led the team to the playoffs, but it was really the strength of the defense that carried the team. Since then, the Jets have been rebuilding and attempting to reshape their franchise.
This past offseason, the Jets weaseled their way into a third-place draft position and picked up Sam Darnold. They also acquired Teddy Bridgewater in hopes to fix a horrific quarterback depth chart. Elijah McGuire played his rookie season with the Jets last year, but the young running back fractured his foot and will miss extended time. With McGuire down, the Jets need another running back on their roster. According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, both Alfred Morris and Orleans Darkwa are being eyed by the Jets to replace McGuire while he's recovering. Morris spent four seasons with Washington before playing for the Cowboys in the last two seasons. Darkwa led the Giants with 751 yards last season.
