It's almost as if the Smith family had a family meeting at the top of 2018 and decided it was time to rule the world. Will and Jada have branched out on social media, with the former becoming the nation's new favorite motivational speaker and the latter starting her own series on Facebook. While Jaden and Willow proceed to craft eccentric and entertaining music, their parents are continuing to make more boss moves.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Smith and director Marc Forster (Monster's Ball, Finding Neverland, Quantum of Solace, World War Z) have recently acquired Telepool. Telepool is one of Europe's oldest and largest film licensing companies. The company has focused on taking American movies and shows and dubbing them for dissemination in Germany speaking regions of Europe. A group of investors associated with Forster called Elysian Fields, The Smith Family Circle, and Will and Jada Smith’s Family Office acquired Telepool's assets from German and Swiss broadcasters, but financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
Smith and Forster announced that they plan to transform Telepool into a development, financing and distribution company for their own projects. “Marc and I took a close look at Telepool and discovered a company that has an incredible reputation and a lot of potential,” Smith stated. “We look forward to working together and with the Telepool team to create unique opportunities and content to strategically growing the business.”
