Nicole Kidman's last acting role was in Big Little Lies that saw her playing the perfect housewife who unfortunately lives with an abusive husband. The role had her hair always proper, her outfits always matching and her nails always done - the exact opposite of her character in the upcoming crime thriller Destroyer. The Karyn Kusama-directed movie follows LAPD detective Erin Bell who has to go undercover in a gang and ends up confronting her own hidden demons.
"I loved that Karyn is just so uncompromising, and I love that she has a muscularity to her filmmaking but also a poetry," she said of her director. "She's very raw and very willing to go to places that other filmmakers aren't."
The movie also stars Sebastian Stan, Toby Kebbell, Tatiana Maslany, Bradley Whitford, Jade Pettyjohn, and Scoot McNairy. Watch the trailer below and catch the film in theatres December 25th.
