The Oakland Raiders will soon become the Las Vegas Raiders, but before that time comes they'll reportedly be playing their home games in San Francisco.
The team has not yet made an official announcement regarding plans for the 2019 NFL season, but NBC Bay Area reports that the Raiders are prepared to make an official statement later this week.
According to reports, the NFL and San Francisco 49ers still have to approve of the Raiders' move to play at the recently renamed Oracle Park - home of the San Francisco Giants.
"The 49ers would also have to waive their territorial rights for the Raiders to play next season in San Francisco. The 49ers have not yet signed off on this, sources told NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco. Also, the NFL would have to approve the move, and that has not occurred, either, according to the sources."
According to John Breech of CBS Sports, Raiders owner Mark Davis had also been considering a temporary relocation to San Diego or San Antonio. The team spent the last 24 seasons in Oakland, but is set to leave for Las Vegas by the 2020 NFL season.
