Back in March, Usher and his wife Grace Miguel announced that they were separating after two years of marriage and almost 10 years together.
“After much thought and consideration we have mutually decided to separate as a couple,” they stated. “We remain deeply connected, loving friends who will continue supporting each other through the next phases of our lives. The enormous amount of love and respect that we have for each other will only increase as we move forward.”
The Blast now reports that Usher has filed a motion to seal the entire case, keeping all documents hidden from the public. The documents detail Usher's stance on the matter, where he explains that he is a well-known figure and his divorce contains highly sensitive, personal and confidential information. He details how public access to his filings could “serve to compromise the safety and well-being of the parties to this action and those third parties with whom they have professional and contractual obligations.”
Usher even tried to change his name on the documents, using just initials - U.R. IV and G.R.
A judge has yet to rule on his request for all documents moving forward to be sealed.
