Last year, for the first time ever, EA Sports' NBA Live 18 featured all 12 WNBA teams. This year, EA Sports has announced that NBA Live 19 gamers will be able to create female characters for the first time in the game's history.
According to today's press release, gamers will be able to create female characters and take them around the world in THE ONE, building their squad, taking on global challenges and accessing the same skills, progression and gear as their male counterparts. Men and women can also play together on the same team in THE ONE. Additionally, female players will also be able to scan themselves into the game, using a companion app on iOS or Android mobile devices, to take part in their virtual careers.
Gamers who create women players will be able to use those characters in the Streets World Tour, Live Run, The Rise, as well as recruit WNBA players to their squads (and NBA players too) for all noted modes. Women players will also have their icon packs or unique skills and abilities tied to real life players available to be unlocked. The "NBA Live 19" women icons are Candace Parker, Brittney Griner and Elena Delle Donne.
NBA Live 19 is slated to release September 7 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Check out the latest trailer in the video embedded below.
