New Drizzy and French on the way?

If you happened to stop by the Tao Downtown nightclub in New York on Tuesday, August 21, you were witness to quite a treat. Odds are you didn’t, and that’s okay too because well, the Internet.

Tuesday night, French Montana was in the building and decided to bring a gift as clubbers were able to preview an unreleased Drake collaboration, and naturally, a snippet of the preview surfaced online. According to Page Six, “the place went nuts” when the track took over the speakers.

“French premiered new tracks from his upcoming album,” a partygoer told the publication. “One song is with Drake. The songs sounded ready to go.”

The last time the two men came together was for 2016’s “No Shopping.” While there’s no word official word on just when and where we’ll hear the full result, French did reveal that there was no rush.

“I come from the mixtape era -- we just dropped shit,” he previously told Billboard when referencing his forthcoming album. “I’m going to make sure this one gets the respect it deserves.”

Jungle Rules was the last full-length studio effort we got out of French when it arrived in July of last year. The effort did manage to earn a Gold certification and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, but failed to move significantly out of the shadow of the viral success of lead single “Unforgettable.” Let’s hope that what we’re hearing signals toward French’s newest project outdoing the last.
