Not everyone's sold on a live Sonic.

Making movies for children has always been lucrative. Film's like The Incredibles, Lion King, Shrek, or Cars were able to pull in massive numbers because children beg their parents to take them to see the films. Instead of what may have been one movie ticket to see Wreck-It Ralph is now two or three, and often times entire families go to the movies together. The lucrative stream has SEGA's eyes gleaming as they attempt to cash in on the box office surplus. When it was announced that Deadpool director Tim Miller would be directing a live-action Sonic the Hedgehog film, many fans of the game scratched their heads.

Now that a new motion poster for the movie has been introduced, several Sonic connoisseurs took to the internet to trash the characters new look. The first issue they found with Sonic was his fur. In the video game, Sonic is sleek looking while the new Sonic looks more like the furry Pikachu from Ryan Reynold's Detective Pikachu. "It would be weird and it would feel like he was running around nude if he was some sort of otter-like thing," Tim Miller explained to IGN when describing Sonic's fuzzy look. "It was always, for us, fur, and we never considered anything different. It's part of what integrates him into the real world and makes him a real creature." That does make sense. But the fact Sonic appears to have gone to the gym, and is possibly sporting some yoga pants, bothered many on the internet.
