YFN Lucci and Reginae Carter may not necessarily be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a power couple, but by the looks of it, they could very well be on their way to such a title.
Most recently, the duo teamed up to put on their first annual Back 2 School Field Day in their hometown of Atlanta. Held at the city’s Grant Park Recreation Center, over 300 families were present as Lucci and Reginae put together an evening to properly ring in the school year.
Children in attendance were treated to complimentary face painting, caricaturists, bracelet making, coloring, food and even an ice cream truck. They also partook in traditional field day events that included a potato sack race, 3-legged race, and egg-spoon race. Afterwards, families were gifted with a free backpack filled with school supplies provided by Lucci’s native Think It’s a Game Record and YFNBC.
In attendance were the likes of Regina’s mother Toya Wright, and singers Zonnique and Damar Jackson.
This event follows on the heels of 21 Savage’s third annual ISSA Back To School Drive, held about 15 minutes away in the rapper’s native East Atlanta just a few weeks ago.
It’s a strong message sent from rappers who own upbringing was rooted in a life in the streets, and it marks a considerable shift in accountability and the responsibility that the men have taken upon themselves in playing a part in steering the next generation in the right direction.
