KFC announced a new addition to their menu yesterday, finally bringing in the ultimate match to crispy fried chicken: waffles. "Our famous extra crispy, savory fried chicken atop a Belgian Liege-style waffle, with the finishing touch of classic Mrs. Butterworth's syrup, makes for a scrumptious dish I'd put up against versions at upscale restaurants, but we're offering it at a price just about anyone can afford," the fast-food chain said on the new menu item.
Although many KFC fans are happy about the news, Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles has got something to say about the add and they shared a few words on TheShadeRoom to boot. “Second to none!!!” Roscoe’s wrote on the Instagram post. “Do y’all ever know the history of ‘chicken and waffles’ KFC settles for a líege type waffle. That’s not even a real waffle, it’s like a hard biscuit. If there’s one thing we do right, it’s ‘Chicken and Waffles’ just skip the hype and come check us out.”
We'll have to see how KFC responds to this one.
