Eagles fans say "thanks" to Parkey after missing game-winning FG.

Chicago Bears kicker Cody Parkey helped his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, advance to the divisional round of the playoffs last night after missing a potential game-winning 43-yard field goal with seconds remaining.

Not long after Parkey's kick clanked off the upright and crossbar, Eagles fans began sending money to his venmo account as a way of saying thanks. As seen in the tweets embedded below, the donations ranged from $2 (one dollar for each post he hit) to the price of a stadium beer.

Naturally, some fans also started setting up fake Parkey venmo accounts in an attempt to make a quick buck.

“I thought I hit a great ball and was trying to play the wind,” Parkey said following the 16-15 loss. “There's really no answer to it. I didn't make it. I take that loss on me. The sun is going to shine tomorrow, but unfortunately this one is going to sting for a while.”

For what it's worth, video footage appears to show that Eagles defensive tackle Treyvon Hester actually tipped the ball. Whatever the case may be, Parkey and the Bears will be watching from home while the Eagles take on the top-ranked New Orleans Saints next Sunday.
