Kevin Hart & Tiffany Haddish were quick to back the 6ix God as he lay defenseless to a BBC Radio 1 caller that lambasted him. The comedians were making an appearance on BBC Radio 1's Breakfast with Greg James, a new radio show that's been given carte blanche to find its audience/identity with the help of celebrity kinship. The ordeal began as host Greg James opened the hotline to callers, who were given carte blanche in like manner -- to ask Hart & Haddish anything clouding their minds (within reason). One particular caller launched into a diatribe about Drake, labeling him the "Nickelback of rap," which of all things that could be said (plainly), seemed upset the American guests.
"First off, who is Nickelback?" Haddish retorted. "I don't know them but I know Drake."
Kevin Hart, second out the block, had a little bit more to say with regards to pocket watchers. "This is the prime example of a person that just hates success," Hart stated. "This is a person that hates to see people on top. And I can tell you right now, this guy sleeps on a futon with no mattress. There's no doubt in my mind that he has a hard futon with no pad and he's just angry."
It became all too clear that said caller's mildly offensive comments about Drake seemed to hit a nerve within Hart, who like the rapper he came to defend, has had to make several concessions along the way to be the successful person he is today. Hart ended his rant by saying, " How do you hate Drake? How is that possible?" before the leaving the floor to the hotline once again.
