Common brought out Chance The Rapper during his set at Chicago's Mamby on the Beach festival Saturday night. Rather than performing one of his own songs, Chance dropped a verse on a classic Common track "The Food," from 2006's Be. Watch it below.
"The Food," which features a verse from Kanye West and is also produced by him, was first performed on Chapelle's Show in March 2004. The performance got such a positive reaction that the live version of the song from the televised performance was included on the album rather than a proper studio recording.
Speaking of Chance The Rapper and Kanye West, it's been speculated that the two rappers may release a collaborative effort in the near future. This weekend, Francis Farewell Starlite, better known as Francis & The Lights, who has worked with both Kanye and Chance, suggested that there were "rumblings" of a collaborative album between the two rappers. Kanye is fresh off of a 5-week, 5-album streak which concluded with the release of Teyana Taylor's K.T.S.E. on Saturday. He has hinted that further collaborative projects could be in the works involving artists like Cyhi The Prynce & Ty Dolla $ign.
