Bill Simmons has teamed up with HBO Sports yet again for an NBA Finals special that will air after the conclusion of the Cleveland Cavaliers vs Golden State Warriors series. The unscripted hour-long special, dubbed "Courtside at the NBA Finals," will premiere Tuesday, June 19 at 9 PM ET/PT with a replay at 11 PM ET/PT on HBO.
According to Deadline, the special will chronicle the series from start to finish.
“This show will give our subscribers a first-hand look at the nuances of each victory and defeat,” said Peter Nelson, executive vice president, HBO Sports. “We are privileged to team up with the NBA and Bill Simmons for this unique presentation.”
"It’s the big picture show that always should have run after every NBA Finals (but never did)," Simmons tweeted.
"Courtside at the NBA Finals" will be produced by HBO Sports and executive produced by the Bill Simmons Media Group, which launched The Ringer in 2015. Simmons most recently partnered with HBO on the Andre the Giant documentary, which reportedly drew the highest premiere viewership for an HBO Sports documentary in 15 years.
"Courtside at the NBA Finals" will also be available on HBO Now, HBO Go, and HBO On Demand.
