Reality television keeps trying to come up with new ways to do the same things. Housewives, hip-hop lovers, big brothers, and real world strangers have littered television screens for years. It appears that something original and fresh is finally coming to reality entertainment. As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, celebrity hypnotist Chris Jones will be launching a new Facebook series called Double Take.
What's so different about Double Take? Well, you might recognize Jones from America’s Got Talent, where he hypnotized germaphobe judge Howie Mandel. Jones will use his same talent to play with the minds of the show's contestants. Fans who idolize celebrities will be welcomed on the show, and they will get to meet the person they fantasize about meeting most. The catch is, Jones will hypnotize them before they meet the celebrity, so that they don't know who they are talking to. For example, if you love Drake, Jones would wipe your memory of the rapper and then introduce you to him.
The fan/celebrity meet is set up to be random, so that the fan will get approached while they're out at a restaurant or just completing daily errands. The celebrity, not wearing any disguise, will interact with their fan in the hypnotized state of mind. John Cena, Pamela Anderson, U.S. Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon, Steve-O, and Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s NeNe Leakes will all be featured on the show's first season. Double Take premieres September 5 on Facebook Watch.
