Netflix has yet another new original film on the way. How It Ends, an upcoming thriller starring Divergent's Theo James and the legendary Forest Whitaker, is about exactly what it sounds like: the impending apocalypse. The movie follows a man (James) and his father-in-law (Whitaker) as they race against time to save their respective wife and daughter (Kat Graham), driving across the country as they anticipate a mysterious apocalyptic event.
How It Ends is directed by David M. Rosenthal, who previously helmed the 2015 romantic thriller The Perfect Guy and is currently filming a remake of Jacob's Ladder to be released in 2019. In other words, he knows his way up and down the thriller scale. It's written by Brooks McClaren, who is currently tied to the upcoming Rambo film Rambo: New Blood.
How It Ends will premiere on Netflix on July 13, 2018. Watch the full trailer above.
