In the final episode of the Surviving R. Kelly docuseries, Chance The Rapper reportedly admits that making music with R. Kelly was a "mistake."
Both artists being from Chicago was the foundation on which their musical history was built with R. Kelly being a special surprise guest during Chance's Lollapalooza set in 2014 to Chance making a cameo in Kelly's "Backyard Party" video in 2015 and with the two men collaborating on the "Somewhere In Paradise" track together alongisde fellow Chicago crooner Jeremih the same year.

Rolling Stone reports that Chano spoke about the brief history with R. Kelly in an interview for the Lifetime Surviving R. Kelly series and admits that he regrets having worked with the disgraced singer.
“Making a song with R. Kelly was a mistake. I didn’t value the accusers’ stories because they were black women,” Chance the Rapper told Cassius‘ Jamilah Lemieux. “I made a mistake.”
The outlet indicates that it is unclear if the interview was recorded specifically for the series or if it is unreleased footage from another engagement. Chance's appearance is only the latest in a string of high-profile interviews in the buzzing series. Notably, several othrs reportedly declined to speak in film, including Questlove who clarified that he did not make an appearance because producers asked him to focus on Kelly's talents.
