Although any New Year's Eve pop music show will happen in the shadow of this unfortunate performance, and the following year's redemption, the people at ABC and Dick Clark productions have compiled a stacked pop lineup that will attempt, but likely fail, to compete with Dame Carey.
Top of the bill will be Camilo Cabello, whose heart will be left in Havana once again as she travels to Nueva York for the performance where the feature on her biggest song will likely not be present to lend his unique touch to her vanilla pop anthem. Sharing the stage with her will be her close friend Shawn Mendes who is known for, among other things, braiding Cabello's hair:
There will also be performances by Weezer, Bazzi and Halsey and the evening host will be the host: Ryan Seacrest.
For those of us who live on the East coast, it may be surprising to learn that not only do the people out West get their own New Year's Eve celebration, but they also get a better host: Ciara. From "Goodies" to "Body Party" to "Level Up, this is the person I want hosting my New Year's, even if she's accompanied by Macklemore.
