Marion 'Suge' Knight, who is charged with murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run for allegedly running down two men in Compton killing one of them, appears in court for his arraignment at Criminal Courts Building April 30, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. Knight has been ordered to stand trial and is being re-arraigned on murder charges after he was involved in an argument with two men in a Compton restaurant parking lot and struck them with his vehicle in January.
Despite being locked up, Suge Knight handles his family business.

Suge Knight has been a controversial, yet important, figure in the hip-hop world for decades. His history of violent and criminal behavior have gotten him in trouble several times, especially now, as he waits in prison to go on murder charges for running over two men and killing one in a hit-and-run. Some things are deeper than rap or jail, and Suge is taking care of family business despite being locked up.

Suge made headlines this week after it was reported that his request to leave prison for a single day in order to attend his mother's funeral had been denied. Since he's waiting in prison on murder charges, he's consider part of a class of prisoners that will not be granted the ability to leave the prison for a funeral.

According to TMZ, Suge not being able to attend hasn't stopped him from covering the cost of the funeral. He will reportedly drop around $20k on the ceremony for his mother, Maxine Chatman. The ceremony will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, CA early next month.

It gets even worse for Suge. In addition to not being able to attend the funeral of his own mother, he is also reportedly not allowed to receive mail while in prison. This means he won't even be able to receive any photos from the ceremony either. Whether or not one approves of Suge Knight as a person, it's hard not to feel some sympathy for his position. If not for his sake, then for his mother's.
