President Trump's list of legal troubles has gotten shorter.

Adult film actress Stormy Daniels has been grabbing headlines for her alleged affair with President Trump. Relations between the two have become evidently hostile and tense with both parties publicly announcing their doubt and distrust of the other's character. Their exchanges led Daniels to file a defamation suit against the current president - but according to a new report by TMZ, her efforts have proven unsuccessful.

This past Monday, a federal judge voted to dismiss Daniel's defamation suit on the basis that the evidence against Trump cannot be categorized as defamation. The court maintains that it would be unreasonable to believe that politicians should sue their opponent on each occasion that verbal jabs are exchanged between them. It seems that the judge has categorized Stormy as a political opponent to Trump stating in the ruling that Stormy has "publicly [presented] herself as a political adversary to [Trump]."

Daniels originally filed the suit after President Trump accused her of lying about claims she had made about an unidentified man, unknown to her, that threatened her to stop revealing the details of her purported tryst with Trump in the year 2011. Daniels had even commissioned a sketch of this character, a sketch that was unsurprisingly criticized and discredited by Trump. In a tweet described as "rhetorical hyperbole" by the judge presiding over the case, Trump wrote, "A sketch years later about a nonexistent man. A total con job, playing the Fake News Media for Fools (but they know it)!"
