On Friday, December 7th, XXXTentacion's first posthumous album was released. The project, Skins, was one of three albums X previously planned to drop in 2018, along with ? and Bad Vibes Forever. While it's unclear whether the third chapter will ever see the light of day, Skins has officially landed, though whether it arrived as X initially intended will forever remain unknown. Still, fans likely enjoyed hearing the rapper's voice again, even though the project clocked in with a runtime under twenty-minutes.
Perhaps it was that very brevity that secured X's Skins some truly impressive first-week sales projections. HDD reports that the late Floridian's third studio album is set to move between 140k–160k in sales, with between 30k-50k arising through traditional sales. To be clear, the report indicates that concrete information is scarce, though the source has been largely accurate in their projection assessments. Lending credence to the claim is Akademiks, who puts forth his own projection of 162k. It makes sense, given that X's fanbase stands among the new school's most loyal, and thus, likely to support the late rapper.
