E-40 has announced that he will release three albums before the end of the year. The first of the trilogy is the previously announced The Gift Of Gab, originally pegged with a June release date, now dropping this Friday, August 24th. Next comes Rule Of Thumb, set for an October release, followed by Practice Makes Paper, wrapping things up in December.
Each of the albums comes complete with a dictionary definition of each phrase.
The Gift Of Gab: The ability to speak with eloquence and fluency
Rule Of Thumb: A rule based on experience or practice rather than on scientific knowledge or theory
Practice Makes Paper: Repeated exercise in an activity or skill to acquire or maintain money
The albums will be E-40's first solo albums since his 2016 double release The D-Boy Diary: Book 1 & 2. As you may know, the Bay Area rapper has a tendency to share more than one album per year. 40 shared at least two albums each year between 2011 and 2014. Earlier this year, he put out Connected and Respected, a collaborative project with B-Legit.
E-40's label, Sik Wid It, released two new projects this month: Nef The Pharaoh's The Big Chang Theory and OMB Peezy's Loyalty Over Love.
