Of all the songs released from Kanye West's Wyoming sessions over the last few weeks, "Ghost Town," is one of the clear fan favorites. The ye highlight features guest appearances from Kid Cudi and PArtyNextDoor, but its standout performance comes from new GOOD Music signee 070 Shake, who closes the song with a memorable hook. "And nothing hurts anymore, I feel kinda free / We're still the kids we used to be, yeah, yeah / I put my hand on a stove, to see if I still bleed," she belts in what has become one of the most immediately recognizable parts of the album.
In fact, Shake's part is substantial enough that she can perform the isolated hook solo and still get a great reaction. As r/HipHopHeads points out, during her set at Ladyland Fest in Brooklyn Friday, Shake did just that and found that the crowd knew all the words by heart. While neither Kanye or Cudi were present, this makes for the first time any portion of the song has been performed live. So far, Kanye has not announced any tour dates or television appearances in support of his new music, but if he does, it would be great to hear the song performed with all of its performers and parts intact.
Speaking of Kanye's Wyoming releases, the closing chapter of the sessions, Teyana Taylor's K.T.S.E., was released to streaming services Saturday morning. Listen to it here.
