Jordan Peele has already announced an upcoming project called Us, which he'll be writing, directing, and producing, but that doesn't close the possibility of a sequel to Get Out, according to a Variety interview with producer Jason Blum. "If Jordan wants to do a sequel, I’ll do it in a second, but it has to come from Jordan Peele," said Blum, who produced the original Oscar-winning horror film. "I think he’s flirting with the idea."
This isn't the first time the possibility of a Get Out 2 has been brought up. In February, Peele said that he would "seriously consider" making another movie tied to his the most profitable film of 2017. "I love that universe and I feel like there is more story to tell. I don’t know what it is now, but there are some loose ends," he said. While Peele appears to be open to revisit the Get Out universe again, there are no immediate plans for a sequel at this time.
As for Blum, he's continued to find success in the horror genre, but there one recent film he can only admire from afar -- the John Krasinski box office smash A Quiet Place. "I could not have pulled it off," he said. "I would have loved to produce the movie, but I don’t think we would have done it as well as they did it, because it’s a totally different space that we operate in. It’s a big movie." Instead, Blum is getting behind The First Purge, a prequel to the franchise of films he's well-known for. Whether or not he similarly produces more of the Get Out franchise is up to Peele.
