Macklemore has already received some criticism for his radio-friendly massive hit "Thrift Shop," namely from the NY Times music critic Jon Caramanica. Now, Earl Sweatshirt of Odd Future has called him out for his rapping on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' latest top-charting song, "Can't Hold Us." It seems the OF rapper isn't a fan of the song, however, he did compliment Macklemore on his wealth.
Earl didn't know who was rapping on "Can't Hold Us," and he took to Twitter to find out, asking, "also ahahah who the fuck is this rapping very fast on 90's trance piano beat with this 'ceilings cant hold us' john legend hook?" Once a fan pointed out it was Macklemore, Earl later tweeted, "macklemore is caked out as fuck."
Macklemore caught wind of Earl's tweet, and he seemed amused by it, retweeting the rapper and added a "lol."
