Golden State Warriors All-Star forward Draymond Green will not be in the lineup tonight when the Warriors host the Atlanta Hawks, as a result of his argument with Kevin Durant at the end of last night's game. According to a Warriors press release, Green has suspended Green without pay for conduct detrimental to the team.
In case you missed it - Green and KD got into a heated exchange at the end of regulation during Monday's loss to the Clippers, after Green dribbled away the final possession of the fourth quarter without getting a shot up.
Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the argument carried into locker room, with multiple teammates "loudly confronting Green for decision-making on final play of regulation." According to Shams Charania, Draymond also challenged Kevin Durant about his impending free agency. The scene was described as one of most intense of this Golden State Warriors' era.
Therefore, the team has suspended Draymond without pay for tonight's game against the Hawks at Oracle Arena. The Warriors, 11-3, are already without Stephen Curry, who is recovering from a groin strain he suffered during last Thursday's loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
