An Amber Alert was subsequently issued and the search Hania for lasted for weeks before her body was recovered in a body of water near a rural road in Robeson County on November 27. Haina was ultimately raped and killed.

"He has family there and his own business." During a brief telephone interview, Aguilar opened up about the anguish and disappointment he experienced upon learning that his application was denied. "I had hoped they would find it in their hearts to let me be there for my daughter's funeral."

"It's very sad. She was my princess. She will always be my princess."
